Organ manual-keyboards

The keys of our keyboards are made of closely ringed spruce (Bavarian spruce). All our organ keys are manufactured without joints as a general rule. For frames we preferably use oak and beech. Thanks to our CNC processing stations we can guarantee highest dimensional accuracy with respect to key guidance and division.

The coverings of the natural keys are mainly made of ebony and African blackwood. We also use boxwood, plum, service-berry and cherry wood. The available range of material is nearly unlimited. As classic white covering material we use bone applied in split plates and solid plates made of mammoth. acrylic-glass and LARENIM® (mineralic material) round off our range of covering materials.

The sharp keys made of precious wood, with or without coverings, are available in standard shape or customized according to individual requirements. The range of design options for the fronts of the standard keys is likewise impressive. Historical covering rounding, cross grooves, arcade-fronts and fancy-milling represent some of the options available to add a typical individual touch to your keyboards.

As a standard our keys come with pins made of nickel-plated and pre-copperplated steel. The garnishing is made of finest woollen cloth (casimir). Brass pins and leather garnishing are available on request. To provide for the requirements of authentic copies of historical instruments we may also manufacture “dry pin guides“ produced by our own CNC processing stations and meeting highest standards of precision.

On the following two pages you will find our manual keyboard forms in German and English. They serve as a checklist for you and at the same as a basis of our calculation. If you prefer we also would be pleased to receive your design drawings created with AutoCAD (.dwg and .dxf data) by e-mail to:info@oh-klaviaturen.com. We then will provide you with our design drawings by e-mail as well. The manufacturing of complete organ-keyboard assemblies, chassis and organ-consoles will remain in the hands of The “OTTO HEUSS GmbH“.
