Using the information provided by you on dimensions, equipment, and division we create a design drawing in format .dwg (AutoCad) to be sent to you by email for examination, approval and release. To obtain special keyboard forms on dimensions, equipment and capstan interval please go to menu item Order.

As an alternative we are also able to produce replacement keyboards using existing keyboards as a model for the manufacture. We often deal with grand pianos having keyboards barely worth repairing, but with frames which are in good shape and well-worth keeping. In such cases, the sole manufacture of new keys may be recommended as a cost-conscious alternative that does not require extensive engineering work as modifications of the frame and keybed of the instrument are not necessary (see menu item Repair).

Werkstatt As material of the keys we exclusively use closely ringed alpine spruce (Bavarian spruce); by using wedges in the spreader area we prevent the appearance of short glue joints. For the frames we use comb-grained oak and beech as well as back parts made of multi-bonded spruce. Thanks to our CNC processing stations we can assure highest levels of precision and dimensional accuracy with respect to key guidance and capstan interval.

Pure white Acrylic-glass cover material of the keys has meanwhile become a true classic for the standard keys. For the refurbishment of very old instruments, however, it might be worth considering a hue that is slightly less hard, like for instance off-white. For the sake of this property, but also for a remarkably more pleasant feeling of play we also recommend covers made of LARENIM® (Mineralic material). Satin finish or silk gloss, smooth or textured – this material is ideal to suit individual customer requirements. Bone cover, jointed in line with traditions of historical craftsmanship, or as solid plates, and Mammoth represent the high end of our range of white covers.

Sharp key veneers are available in ebony and plastic material according to the standards of the industry, leaving ample room for an individual design of your instrument to make it truly exclusive and unique.

As a standard we use keys equipped with pins made of pre-copperplated and nickle-plated steel. The garnishing comes, as another standard feature, manufactured of finest cashmere wool; leather garnishing of the pin guides is available on request.
